Research about Cambridge Railway Station

                                                         Cambridge Railway Station

Cambridge Railway Station was oppened to the public in 1845 by Eastern Counties Railway. The architect was Francis Thompson, although it is believed that architects Sancton Wood and Henry Hunt have played a part. Originally, it was oppened with one platform, but then, in 1848, a second platform appeared.

Cambridge has the third longest platform (514 yards) in the UK after Colchester and Gloucester. These platforms were originally used by Great Northern and London & North Western trains.
